Dr. Wei Teng is a Lecturer in Global, Cultural and Language Studies at the University of Canterbury's Faculty of Arts, where they have served since June 2018. Specializing in Translation and Interpreting Studies, Dr. Teng focuses on community translation with particular emphasis on healthcare communication. They hold full membership in the New Zealand Society of Translators and Interpreters and NAATI Certified Provisional Interpreter status for English and Mandarin.

Dr. Teng serves as President of the NZSTI Canterbury Branch Committee and as a Member of the NZSTI National Council.
