Wei-Ping DENG is a Professor at the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Xiamen University. His research focuses on catalytic conversion of biomass into value-added chemicals and fuels.

- Development of heterogeneous catalysts
- Chemical synthesis from biomass-derived intermediates
- Oxidative conversion of lignin
Recent Publication Trends: His recent works primarily involve catalytic processes for converting cellulose, lignin, and furanic compounds into ethanol, lactic acid, adipic acid esters, and other chemicals using metal-supported catalysts (Pt, Re, Pd) and acidic materials (tungstic acid, niobic acid, H-ZSM-5).
