Wei Lin Poh is an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Sciences at Heriot-Watt University, with affiliations across Edinburgh, Dubai, and Malaysia campuses. Their research focuses on cognitive psychology, particularly reflective attention, memory, and bilingualism, while emphasizing education innovation and digital learning.
Research interests include exploring how reflective attention and language influence cognitive processes, such as memory retention and thought prioritization. They collaborate with institutions like the Dubai Cognition and Behaviour Lab and Heriot-Watt’s Developmental Interest Group.
Key awards include the Bronze and Silver awards at kNOVASI2021 for projects on community resilience through digital learning and a QAA-funded initiative. Their work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in education and community resilience.
In teaching, they coordinate global courses (e.g., Human Development and Intelligence) across campuses and lead initiatives to enhance ethics education and learning strategies. They also serve as Associate Director of Learning and Teaching in the School of Social Sciences.
