Dr. Wei Huang is a Principal Lecturer in Computing and Information Systems at the University of Bedfordshire's School of Computer Science and Technology. He joined the university in 2004, progressing from Lecturer to Senior Lecturer (2007) and Principal Lecturer (2012). His research focuses on optimization, network security, software engineering, and mobile/web application development. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Loughborough University and degrees from South China University of Technology.
He has supervised four research students and led externally funded projects, including an EPSRC-funded initiative (2009–2012) on network security countermeasure optimization and a KEEP project (2006) developing web applications for SMEs. His work includes over 40 publications, and he serves as a Guest Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Computer Applications in Technology.
Dr. Huang has been an examiner for PhD students at multiple UK universities and actively reviews for journals like IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics. He teaches courses in mobile network design, software engineering, and database systems, and currently leads postgraduate course management in his school.
