معرفی
Wei Guo is the Hirsch Family President's Distinguished Professor in the Biology Department at the University of Pennsylvania's School of Arts & Sciences. His research focuses on molecular mechanisms of exocytic trafficking, tumor invasion, and immune suppression, with a multidisciplinary approach integrating biochemistry, structural biology, and immunology. Key projects include studying the exocyst complex in exocytosis, EV-mediated tumor immune evasion, and exosome secretion regulation.
Research Interests:
1. Molecular basis of exocytosis and its role in cell migration and cancer.
2. Extracellular vesicles in tumor microenvironment and immunotherapy resistance.
3. Interactions between exocyst components and signaling pathways (Rab, Ral, kinases).
Awards:
- Fellow, American Society of Cell Biology
- Pew Scholar in Biomedical Sciences
- American Heart Association Established Investigator
- Biology Department Teaching Award (2008)
Advancing Research: Dr. Guo's lab has developed EV-based biomarker technologies for cancer monitoring and collaborates on clinical trials improving CAR T cell efficacy. His work bridges basic cell biology with translational oncology, addressing therapeutic resistance mechanisms.
Labs: Located in 304E Lynch Laboratory, his team focuses on exosome biology, cancer immunology, and mechanobiology of tumor progression.
