Weena Lokuge

Associate Professor Weena Lokuge is a Civil Engineering academic at the University of Southern Queensland's School of Engineering, affiliated with the Centre for Future Materials. She holds a PhD from Monash University and has held progressive roles since 2010, including Lecturer (2013–2016), Senior Lecturer (2017–2020), and her current position since 2021. Her expertise spans construction materials, composite materials, infrastructure resilience, and structural engineering.

Her research focuses on construction materials innovation, rehabilitation of concrete structures, and infrastructure management. With over 100 publications and an H-index of 22, her work emphasizes industry collaboration through grants like the ARC Industrial Transformation Research Hub and Bush Fire & Natural Hazards CRC. She has supervised 9 HDR completions and currently guides 8 PhD/DPEN students (4 as principal supervisor).

Teaching includes courses like Engineering Statics (CIV1501) and Advanced Prestressed Concrete (CIV6802). Professional memberships include Engineers Australia and the Concrete Institute of Australia’s Queensland Branch committee.
