Dr. Wayne W. Williams is an Associate Professor of Accounting at Temple University's Fox School of Business and Management. He serves as the Faculty Advisor for the National Association of Black Accountants. Prior to academia, he held roles in accounting, tax, and administrative leadership in private industry and government. He previously worked at the Community College of Philadelphia (CCP) as a faculty member, Department Chair for Business Administration, and Director of Education Services for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program. He actively contributes to local governance, serving on Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter’s Tax Policy Task Force (2009) and currently on the Philadelphia Department of Revenue Commissioner’s Tax Advisory Committee and the City’s Tax Reform Working Group (2021-2022).
His research focuses on tax policy, small business growth, financial literacy, and student success. He holds a Doctor of Education from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Science in Taxation and Financial Planning from Widener University, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Temple University’s Fox School. He is an IRS Enrolled Agent and Certified Financial Planner™.
Williams teaches courses in managerial accounting, taxation, and business strategy. He has been involved in strategic planning initiatives at CCP and advocates for programs enhancing student success, particularly for underrepresented groups.
