Wayne Albert is a Full Professor and Dean in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of New Brunswick. He holds a BSc from the University of Ottawa, an MSc from the University of Western Ontario, and a PhD in Occupational Biomechanics from Queen's University. His research focuses on ergonomics, musculoskeletal injury prevention in workplaces, and biomechanical analysis of lifting techniques. Dr. Albert has collaborated extensively with institutions across Canada on projects addressing occupational safety, fatigue effects, and ergonomic interventions.
Key research areas include the biomechanics of low back pain, effects of work environments on physical performance, and ergonomic evaluations for professions like truck drivers and paramedics. His work integrates biomechanical assessments with physiological and psychological factors influencing occupational health. Recent studies explore active sitting benefits, night vision goggle impacts on aircrew, and paramedic performance under stress.
Dr. Albert’s publications highlight trends in workplace ergonomics, sports biomechanics, and injury prevention strategies. He has contributed to improving ergonomic designs for office chairs, truck seats, and helicopter cockpits. His research emphasizes translating biomechanical insights into practical solutions for reducing workplace injuries and enhancing human performance.
