Waylon J. Hastings is an Assistant Professor at the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences, Texas A&M University, with a focus on aging research and telomere biology. He holds advanced degrees in Biobehavioral Health & Bioethics (PhD, Penn State) and Educational Administration (MS, Texas A&M). His research spans three areas: optimizing biological aging metrics, bench science in telomere measurement, and translating animal model insights to human studies.

- Ph.D. Biobehavioral Health & Bioethics, Pennsylvania State University (2020)
Research Interests:
- Multi-dimensional aging metrics validation using cohort studies
- Telomere measurement precision and methodological rigor
- Metabolomics and caloric restriction interventions
- Impact of life course risk factors (e.g., food insecurity, reproduction costs)
Awards:
