Warren Stanley is a Lecturer and researcher at the University of Hertfordshire's Department of Physics, Astronomy and Mathematics, affiliated with the School of Physics, Engineering & Computer Science. He specializes in aerosol detection technologies and environmental sensor development. His research focuses on light scattering analysis, bioaerosol fluorescence, and optical tomography systems.
Education: PhD in Physics (University of Hertfordshire) with a focus on medical imaging using near-infrared light. Bachelor's in Physics/Electronics from the same institution.
Key Projects:
- Particle detectors for stratospheric balloons (ongoing)
- CASBA Biofluorescence Detector (2023-2024)
- Low-cost air quality sensors (2018-2019)
Research Interests: Development of compact instruments for atmospheric measurements, including particle counters, bioaerosol sensors, and cloud spectro-polarimeters. Collaborations with Alphasense Ltd and field campaigns in Germany and Finland.
Publications emphasize aerosol emission studies, UAV-based sensing, and instrument validation. Active in both academic research and industry partnerships.
