معرفی
Dr. Loic Coudron is a Reader in Digital Microfluidics at the University of Hertfordshire, affiliated with the School of Physics, Engineering & Computer Science and the Department of Engineering and Technology. He leads the Microfluidics and Microengineering Research Group (MMRG), focusing on electrowetting-based digital microfluidics for defense and security applications.
Education: Ingénieur Diplômé from the University François-Rabelais of Tours (2007), PhD in Microelectronics (2011). Research interests include biodetection, aerosol collection, and lab-on-a-chip technologies. His work addresses military aerosol biodetection challenges through UK MoD-funded projects like the Worn-Bio Detector and Compact Integrated Biological Detection systems.
Projects:
- Developed electrowetting-based DMF systems for aerosol detection (funded by dstl/UK MoD)
- Leading initiatives on hydrogel-based bioaerosol sensing (2024–2028)
- Electrostatic precipitation and dielectrophoretic particle collection
Grants & Collaborations: Active projects with dstl, including Air DNA Sampling and Dielectrophoretic pathogen capture systems. Collaborates with institutions like the Wolfson Centre for Biodetection.
Labs/Teams: Core member of MMRG, contributing to turnkey DMF systems and interdisciplinary military-aerosol research.
