Professor Warren Maguire is a Personal Chair of English Language at the University of Edinburgh, affiliated with the School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences and the Linguistics and English Language department. He directs the Angus McIntosh Centre for Historical Linguistics and co-edits English Language & Linguistics. His research spans dialectology, historical phonology of English and Scots, and phonological mergers.
