Patrick Honeybone is a Professor of Historical Phonology at the University of Edinburgh's School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences. His work focuses on historical phonology, phonological theory, and dialectology, particularly in English and Slavic languages. He supervises PhD students in these areas and has published extensively on topics like Liverpool English, sound change mechanisms, and linguistic theory.
