Warren Cariou is a Professor in the Department of English, Theatre, Film & Media at the University of Manitoba, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts. Based in Winnipeg, his work centers on Indigenous literature, oral traditions, environmental philosophy, and creative writing, informed by his Métis heritage and focus on communities in western Canada.

- BA Honours in English (University of Saskatchewan, 1988)
Research Interests: Indigenous literatures and storytelling, energy humanities, decolonization, and environmental philosophies connected to western Canadian Indigenous communities, particularly in the Athabasca tar sands region.
