Warren Boling

Warren Boling, MD, is a Professor of Neurosurgery at Loma Linda University School of Medicine and Professor of Physician Assistant Sciences at the School of Allied Health Professions. As Chair of Neurosurgery, he leads research initiatives across neurosurgical and allied health disciplines.

• Research Interests: Epilepsy surgery, radiosurgery optimization, neuroprotection in spinal cord injury, molecular hydrogen therapy, and neuroimmune modulation.
• Grants & Projects: Principal Investigator for the SCING trial (glyburide for spinal cord injury), developer of nanocarriers for boron neutron capture therapy, and investigator in cerebrospinal fluid liquid biopsy for CNS tumors.

His recent publications focus on proton beam therapy for meningiomas, neuroimmune devices in rheumatoid arthritis, hydrogen gas applications in stroke, and mast cell targeting for neuroprotection. Articles span clinical trials, preclinical models, and imaging/therapeutic innovations.

• Grants: Include industry-sponsored EVD catheter safety studies, university-funded neuro-oncology projects, and NIH-funded collaborations on brain metastases.
• Labs & Teams: Collaborates with Loma Linda University Cancer Center biospecimen lab, neurosurgical teams, and international tele-epilepsy networks.
