معرفی
Assoc Prof Wang Hong is an Associate Professor in the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He serves as Director of the Nanyang NanoFabrication Centre (N2FC) and Deputy Director of the Silicon Technologies - Centre of Excellence (Si-COE). His research focuses on nanotechnology, optoelectronics, and semiconductor devices, with contributions to metamorphic heterojunction bipolar transistors (MHBTs) and mid-infrared photonics.
Education: B.Eng. (Zhejiang University, 1988), M.Eng. and Ph.D. (NTU, 1998 and 2001). Prior to NTU, he worked at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (1988–1994) and the British Telecommunications Laboratories (1994–1995). He has authored over 300 technical papers, 2 book chapters, and holds 5 patents.
Research interests include nanofabrication, smart sensors, THz photonics, and optoelectronic materials. Notable achievements include demonstrating the world's first InP-based MHBT (2000) and pioneering low-loss silicon photonics platforms for mid-infrared applications.
Scientific recognition includes the Royal Research Fellowship (UK, 1994–1995), Defence Technology Prize (2007), and Singapore National Day Awards (2022). He has served on committees for IEEE International Conferences on Nanoelectronics and Electron Devices (INEC/IEDM).
Current leadership roles involve overseeing N2FC's advanced fabrication facilities and advancing silicon-based photonic technologies for telecommunications and sensing applications.
