معرفی
Prof. Waltraud Schulze is a Professor in the Computational Science Hub (CSH) and Deputy Dean (2nd Prodean) of the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the University of Hohenheim. She leads the Plant Systems Biology research group (Fg. Systembiologie der Pflanze) and chairs the Großgerätekommission committee. Her interdisciplinary roles also include co-leading the International Graduate School (Graduiertenkolleg) focused on maize-based agricultural systems under phosphorus limitations.
- Affiliations: University of Hohenheim, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Plant Systems Biology Group, Computational Science Hub (CSH)
- Departments: Plant Systems Biology Research Group
- Committees: Großgerätekommission (Chair), International Graduate School (Project Leader)
Her research focuses on plant nutrient signaling, proteomics, and systems biology. Key themes include nutrient uptake mechanisms (nitrogen, phosphorus), calcium signaling pathways, and stress response adaptations. Her work integrates molecular biology, biochemistry, and computational methods to study plant-microbe interactions, root development, and agricultural sustainability.
Recent articles highlight advancements in plant stress responses, proteomic profiling under drought, and the structural biology of nutrient transporters. Her studies often bridge basic research with applied agronomy, addressing global challenges like phosphorus scarcity in crop systems.
- Grants & Projects: Leads the International Graduate School 'Adaptation of Maize-Based Production Systems'
- Labs/Teams: Plant Systems Biology Group, CSH Collaborations
