Waltraud Blischke is an Assistant Professor for Music and Text at the Institute For Music And Media of the Robert Schumann School of Music and Media Düsseldorf. She holds a background in Political Science, Theatre, Film and Televisual Science, and Art History from the University of Cologne. Her career spans DJing, writing for magazines like Spex and Stadtrevue, and collaborative projects with labels such as a-Musik and Sonig. She specializes in aesthetic-discursive musical mediation, sound collage creation, and experimental radio productions.
Her research interests include the intersection of music and text, sonic hacking, sampling strategies, and the phenomenon of eDigging. Notable projects include an audiovisual show on pharmacy cross symbolism (2011 Cologne Music Night), a musical lecture on The Art of Sound Hacking (SIGINT 2009), and contributions to the Testcard pop music anthology. She also serves on music juries and develops specialized publication projects.
