Wael El Sokary

Wael El Sokary is a Senior Lecturer at the General Education Unit of Khalifa University of Science and Technology. He previously worked at the Petroleum Institute from 2006 until its integration into Khalifa University in 2017.

His research focuses on applied linguistics, engineering education, and bilingual education programs. He has taught Academic English, Technical Communications, and Linguistics courses. Affiliated with Petroleum Institute Research, he specializes in K-12 educational methodologies and bilingual program design.

He holds a M.A. in Instructional Systems Development (University of Maryland, Baltimore County, 2003) with K-12 certification from Maryland, and a B.A. in English Literature and Linguistics (Ain Shams University, 1992). Former roles include teaching in Prince George’s County Public Schools and delivering educational methodology training at UMBC.
