Dr. Véronique Michaud is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Université de Montréal. Her research focuses on clinical pharmacology, drug metabolism, and pharmacogenomics with an emphasis on extrahepatic drug metabolism and personalized pharmacotherapy. She leads multiple research projects investigating the impact of conditions like type 2 diabetes on drug disposition and CYP450 enzyme activities. Her work also explores genetic and metabolic factors influencing drug response.
Dr. Michaud has supervised numerous graduate students, including doctoral candidates and master's students, focusing on topics such as drug transporter inhibition, CYP450 enzyme characterization, and pharmacokinetic modeling. She has secured grants from organizations like the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Fonds de recherche du Québec, and the Fondation du CHUM.
Her recent publications address neurodevelopmental disorders linked to genetic mutations (e.g., KCNT2, CLCN4, KDM2B), pharmacological mechanisms of drug interactions, and innovative gene therapy approaches for metabolic diseases. She actively collaborates with researchers in clinical, genetic, and translational medicine fields.
