معرفی
Volker Haucke is a Professor of Pharmacology at Freie Universität Berlin and Director at the Leibniz-Forschungsinstitut für Molekulare Pharmakologie (FMP). His research focuses on the endocytic machinery, membrane trafficking, and synaptic function in health and disease, with applications in neurodegenerative disorders and cancer. He employs biochemical, genetic, and optical imaging techniques in genome-engineered cells and nerve tissue.
- Education: Biochemistry at Freie Universität Berlin and University of Basel, postdoctoral work at Yale University and University of Göttingen.
Research interests include lipid signaling, neuronal cell biology, and nutrient-regulated pathways. His lab investigates how phosphoinositides control lysosomal function, synaptic vesicle recycling, and metabolic rewiring in diseases like Alzheimer’s and diabetes. Recent work highlights the role of PI3KC2α/β in endocytosis and therapeutic targeting.
- Key publications span Science, Nature, Cell, and Neuron, with emphasis on endolysosomal systems, synaptic communication, and pharmacological interventions.
Scientific awards include the Feldberg Prize (2020) and the Leibniz Prize (2025). His lab, certified by My Green Lab, trains PhD students and postdocs in interdisciplinary approaches. Funding sources include DFG, European Research Council, and German Federal Ministry of Science (BMBF).
