Vladimir Sivakov

Dr. Vladimir Sivakov is a senior researcher and head of the Silicon Nanostructures group at the Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology in Jena, Germany. He leads a research team focused on nanoscaled silicon and functional materials with applications in green energy, biosensorics, and nanomedicine. His work bridges fundamental nanomaterials research with practical applications in energy and biomedical fields.

His research interests span multiple advanced areas including thin films technology (both top-down and bottom-up approaches), nanophysics, surface functionalization, biophotonics, Raman scattering, and electron microscopy. He has developed significant expertise in surface sensitive analytics using synchrotron radiation facilities including XPS, PEEM, and XANES/NEXAFS at major European facilities in Germany (BESSY II), England (Diamond Light), and Italy (Elettra).
