Dr Vlad Morariu is a Senior Lecturer in Fashion Visual Cultures at Middlesex University, affiliated with the School of Design within the Faculty of Arts and Creative Industries. He holds an ORCID ID (0000-0002-6421-5727) and has taught at Loughborough University. His research explores semiotics, poststructuralism, and institutional critiques, with a focus on art collections and magical thinking.
Reward: Served as International Fellow for Art Theory and Practice at KÜNSTLERHAUS BÜCHSENHAUSEN (2013-2014).
Teaching: Leads modules like Visual Cultures Research Project and co-leads Fashion Cultures and Social Responsibility. Supervised 4 current PhD students and completed 1 PhD.
Research: Co-founded Collection Collective (2017), an international art collective emphasizing shared ownership. Published works include analyses of Farid Fairuz’s political rituals and Phil Cleaver’s book-object art. Active in curatorial projects like Tools for Self-Representation (2018).
