Caroline Alexander is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Fashion at Kingston School of Art, Kingston University London. She has held roles including Visiting Lecturer (2005-2008) and resumed teaching in 2015, progressing to her current position as Level 4 Year Leader. She manages the historical fashion archive, including the Benenden School Costume Collection, which spans 18th-20th century garments and supports research and teaching. Her expertise lies in 19th/20th-century fashion design and social history of fashion consumption/production.
Education qualifications include a PGCE in Post-Compulsory Education, MA Film and Visual Culture (Middlesex University), BA (Hons) Womenswear Design (Ravensbourne College), and a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design (Wimbledon School of Art).
Her research contributions include scholarly articles for the Bloomsbury Fashion Video Archive (as an Academic Advisory Board Member) and Journal of Dress History. She focuses on integrating historical fashion analysis with contemporary design education.
