Vittorio Fiore is an Associate Professor of Architectural Technology at the University of Catania, affiliated with the Department of Humanities and the Department of Architecture (DARC). He holds teaching and research responsibilities at both the Catania (DISUM) and Syracuse (SDS Architecture and Cultural Heritage) campuses. His academic leadership includes serving as Vice President of the Special Teaching Structure in Syracuse, former Vice Director of the DARP Department, and President of the Internship Commission.
His educational background includes a PhD in Building and Environmental Restoration from the University of Genoa (1993) and a specialization in Restoration of Monuments from the University of Naples Federico II (1993). He has been nationally qualified as a full professor in Area 08C1-Sd CAR12 in both 2014 and 2020.
Vittorio Fiore’s research centers on architectural recovery, technological design, and the intersection of architecture with performance arts. His work explores the reuse of historical and non-theatrical buildings for contemporary cultural purposes, innovations in scenography, multimedia performance, and sustainable approaches to cultural events. He investigates hybrid technologies in theatrical spaces and the role of performance in public space regeneration.
His recent scientific activities include leading PNRR-funded research on sustainable cultural infrastructure and organizing workshops with institutions like ADDA and INDA. He has directed major research projects such as "Prospettiva Teatro: scena_tecnologia_arte" and "Riqualificazione Urbana EX Magazzini Stazione Di Noto ad uso culturale," emphasizing digital innovation and eco-design.

Fiore has supervised numerous Master's theses on architectural recovery, cultural reuse, and scenography. He has secured research funding through collaborations with regional and national cultural bodies and is currently coordinating a Ministry of Culture-funded project under the PNRR. He founded and led the ManUrba Research Laboratory and continues to contribute to its mission. He also organizes academic-industry internships and educational workshops in partnership with theaters and cultural associations.
He is actively involved in academic publishing, serving on the editorial boards of journals such as Stratagemmi-Prospettive Teatrali, Agathòn, and TECHNE, and he directs the book series Perìactoi and ManUrba, promoting research in architectural and theatrical innovation.
