Virginie Perlo

Dr. Virginie Perlo is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Data Science at Queensland University of Technology's School of Biomedical Sciences and Centre for Data Science. She holds a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics and Genetics from the University of Queensland (2021) and dual Master's degrees in Molecular Biology/Genetics (Sorbonne University) and Aquatic Productions Management (University of Montpellier).

Her research integrates:

• Multi-omics analysis for biomarker discovery
• Machine learning pipelines for wearable sensor data
• Metabolic network modeling in biological systems
• Data visualization for complex biological datasets

As data scientist for the Mind and Body Performance Patch project (Defence Science and Technology Group funded), she develops analytical frameworks combining physiological, psychological, and omics data to optimize human performance. Her computational expertise bridges decade-long wet-lab experience in molecular biology with private-sector informatics roles spanning software engineering and project management.
