Virginie Guiraudon is a CNRS Research Professor at the Centre for European Studies and Comparative Politics (CEE), Sciences Po, Paris. She is a leading scholar in political science with a focus on European integration, migration, and discrimination. Her research spans comparative immigration policy, EU border control, and multiculturalism.

Her recent publications reflect a sustained engagement with EU migration governance, policy inertia, and racial discrimination in color-blind contexts like France. She has contributed significantly to understanding how states and the EU manage migration through institutional strategies such as venue shopping.

- 2013 ECPR Mattei Dogan Prize in European Political Sociology
She has been active in academic leadership, serving on the executive boards of EUSA, Council for European Studies, ESA’s Political Sociology section, and as chair of the ECPR Standing Group on the European Union. She currently coordinates the French team of the H2020 BRIDGES project and participates in the COVICARE project comparing pandemic responses in Europe. In 2018, she co-launched the International Panel on Migration to bridge research and policy on migration issues.
