Virginia Morcillo Loro

Dr. Virginia Morcillo Loro serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Didactics and School Organization at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), where she teaches across Early Childhood and Primary Education programs including curriculum design, observation methodologies, and practicum supervision. She currently supervises doctoral theses in the Education doctoral program for the 2025-26 academic year.

Her academic credentials include a PhD in Psychopedagogy from the University of Huelva (2016), a Master's degree in Intercultural Education, a Bachelor's degree in Psychopedagogy, and Primary Education Teacher certification. She received the Extraordinary Doctorate Award in Social and Legal Sciences in 2017.

Her research centers on educational equity and pedagogical innovation, with primary focus areas including Intercultural Education frameworks, Inclusive Education strategies, Integrated Curriculum development, and analysis of sociodynamic factors in classroom environments. This work directly informs her teaching in early childhood education contexts and teacher training programs.

She actively contributes to educational research as a member of three institutional R&D groups: GREDIN (Early Childhood Education Research Group), GREID (Inclusive School and Diversity Research Group), and GRIEPD (Educational Innovation and Teaching Profession Research Group). Additionally, she serves as an evaluator for the ANDULI (Andalusian Journal of Social Sciences) and Sociedad Hoy (University of Concepción) journals. Her participation in awarded Teaching Innovation projects demonstrates applied impact of her research.

Prior to her UIB appointment, she held academic positions at the University of Huelva (2009-2014), served as UNED tutor for Pedagogy and Social Education degrees, and lectured at the International University of La Rioja (2017-2022) where she coordinated the socio-community intervention specialty in the Teacher Training Master's program. She frequently presents at educational conferences and conducts professional development workshops on Work Projects methodology for teachers and CEP advisors.
