Virginia Gulick is a Research Professor at the University of Arizona, affiliated with the Lunar and Planetary Laboratory (LPL) since 2021. She contributes to NASA missions such as MRO HiRISE, Mars Science Laboratory, and Mars Exploration Rovers, serving roles like Co-Investigator, Landing Site Selection Steering Group member, and Workshop Organizer.

Her research focuses on Astrobiology, Mars surface processes, and Planetary Analogs, with expertise in Geomorphology, Fluvial/Hydrothermal studies, and Raman spectroscopy for planetary missions. She mentors students including Rowan Huang (PTYS), Dalia Flor Rueda Portillo (HAS), and Reed Spurling (AE; PTYS minor), and teaches courses like PTYS 395B-1 and PTYS 596A-1. Her outreach and collaborations span missions such as Magellan and Marsoweb science initiatives.
