Vineet A. Shende is Professor of Music at Bowdoin College where he teaches composition, orchestration, music theory, film music, and Asian music. His compositions have been performed internationally by ensembles including the Boston Modern Orchestra Project and Portland Symphony Orchestra.
Research Interests: Shende's work explores timbral development, structural order, and the Japanese concept of ma (active space/time), incorporating influences from Indian classical music, rock, and accessible harmonic languages.
