Vincent Scerbinski is an Associate Professor of Accounting at the School of Business, Long Island University, where he serves as Acting Chair. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), he brings over 20 years of private-sector experience to his academic role and provides pro-bono accounting services to East End charitable organizations.
- Education: A.B. from Fairfield University, M.B.A. from St. John’s University
His research focuses on the intersection of taxation and public finance, particularly examining property tax dynamics related to land use practices and population growth. His expertise extends to managerial accounting and financial statement analysis.
Scerbinski’s publications span public sector financial efficiency, tax compliance for nonprofits, and automobile financing models, with a recurring emphasis on tax policy and economic impacts of development. His works include studies on school district budgeting (1998), population-driven tax changes (1993–1994), and consumer financial decision-making (1988–1990).
He is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
