Vincent Raynauld is a Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at Emerson College, with additional appointments as Affiliate Professor at Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, Research Associate in the Groupe de recherche en communication politique (GRCP), and Member of the North American Digital Diplomacy Initiative (NACDI). He serves on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Political Science Association (2024-2027) and is Associate Editor for the Journal of Information Technology and Politics.
His research spans political communication, digital politics, social media, and identity politics, with a focus on electoral campaigns, protest movements, and visual political culture. Recent work examines Instagram-based leader branding, the Freedom Convoy protests, and hyper-masculine campaign strategies in Canadian elections. His interdisciplinary approach integrates communication theory, political sociology, and digital methods.
Raynauld's publications demonstrate evolving trends toward visual political communication and identity-driven digital activism, particularly in North American contexts. His 2021-2024 work increasingly analyzes platform-specific dynamics (Instagram, Twitter) and cross-national comparisons of political marketing.
