Vincent HOVELAQUE is a Full Professor at IGR-IAE Rennes (Institut de Gestion de Rennes - Institut d'Administration des Entreprises de Rennes), which is part of the University of Rennes 1. He serves as Deputy Director for Research at IGR-IAE Rennes and Deputy Director of the UMR CNRS CREM. Additionally, he is the Director of studies for the Master 2 MAE Formation alternance Gestion Comptable et Financière de l'Entreprise and Program director for the Master 2 MAE parcours Pilotage Stratégique et Décisionnel and Master GPLA, parcours Management des Entreprises Agro-alimentaires et de Process.
Professor HOVELAQUE's research focuses on the analysis of industrial management policies and coordination in the supply chain. His current main research areas include supply chain finance, planning optimisations in a mine supply chain, and carbon issues in stock management or location. His work spans production management and logistics, supply chain management and coordination, with specific interests in inventories, location, sustainable supply chain, financial supply chain, and performance metrics.
His teaching activities encompass production management (including inventory management, planning, scheduling, continuous improvement, and ERP systems), logistics (covering issues and development, sales forecasting and S&OP, and major logistics models), and operational research (focusing on foundations of optimization problems, linear programming, duality, and graph theory).
Professor HOVELAQUE's recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on integrating financial considerations into supply chain management, sustainable logistics practices, and optimization of mining supply chains. His work frequently addresses the challenges of blending systems, phosphate supply chains, and the incorporation of carbon policies into facility location decisions. There is a clear trend toward interdisciplinary research that bridges traditional operations management with financial and environmental considerations.
As a dedicated academic advisor, Professor HOVELAQUE has supervised numerous PhD students, including AZZAMOURI Bassma, BAMOUMEN Mouna, HILALI Hajar, MECHOUAR Youcef, AIT MANSOUR Mohamed, and MANGIN Philippe. His supervision focuses on practical applications of supply chain management in mining, finance, and sustainable operations.
Professor HOVELAQUE is actively involved in the UMR CNRS CREM research unit, which appears to be a significant hub for his collaborative research efforts. His work often involves partnerships with other researchers from various institutions, particularly in the areas of supply chain finance and sustainable logistics.
