Vincent Goding

Dr Vincent Goding is a Lecturer in Law at the School of Law and Justice, University of Southern Queensland, based at the Ipswich campus. A former solicitor with litigation and dispute resolution experience, he was awarded his PhD by the University of the Sunshine Coast in 2024 without revisions.

His educational background includes:

• Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Griffith University
• PhD from the University of the Sunshine Coast

Vincent's research takes a critical and contextual approach, examining the forms and modes of power that shape law and law-making processes, especially during crises. His work often provides theoretically-informed critiques of law and legal institutions, with primary focus areas spanning Law in Context, Socio-Legal Research, Legal Theory, Legal Institutions, and Corporations Law.

He has been recognized with the Dean Graduate Research Award for Outstanding Thesis for his doctoral work on "Exceptionality, neoliberalism and corporations in COVID times: The legal shaping of economic order in crisis".

Vincent currently serves as the Academic Integrity Co-Lead for the School of Law and Justice and teaches courses including Australian Legal System, Advanced Australian Legal System, Civil Procedure, and Advanced Civil Procedure.
