Vincent Bax is a lecturer-researcher in Human Geography at HZ University of Applied Sciences since April 2020, affiliated with the Building with Nature research group. He holds a Master's in Environmental Sciences from Wageningen University (2015). Prior experience includes roles as researcher/lecturer at Peru's Universidad de Ciencias y Humanidades and consultant at Colombia's International Center for Tropical Agriculture, focusing on biodiversity-economy interactions in tropical regions. His current research explores societal perceptions of nature-based coastal defenses and socio-ecological adaptation strategies.
Education: MSc Environmental Sciences, Wageningen University (2015).
Research interests include spatial modeling of land-use change in the Amazon/Andes, biodiversity conservation prioritization, and community-driven ecosystem management. Notable projects involve the 'Outside the dike measures' for low-dynamic coastal areas, Polder2C's transnational climate adaptation initiative, and SARCC's sea-level rise mitigation efforts.
Publications span coastal defense policy, floating solar infrastructure feasibility, and deforestation dynamics in conflict zones. He has contributed to projects like the Rammegors tidal restoration and Oostvoornse lake photovoltaic assessment.
