Dr. Vinay Gupta is an Assistant Professor in the Physics Department at Khalifa University (KU), UAE, since 2021. He earned his Ph.D. in Physics (1997), MSc (1992), and BSc (1990) from MDS University, India. His career includes prestigious fellowships, including a JSPS Fellowship at Kyoto University (1998-2003) and a Humboldt Fellowship at Ilmenau Technical University, Germany (2003-2004), followed by roles at Kyushu University and the National Physical Laboratory, India (2008-2018).

His research focuses on the development of advanced materials for sustainable energy and environmental applications, including optoelectronics, photovoltaics, energy storage devices, and membranes for water purification. He has received the Faculty-Start Up 2022 (2.0) grant at KU to develop novel 2D and 3D printed materials for advanced membrane technology. Dr. Gupta teaches University Physics I (PHYS121) and University Physics II (PHYS122).
