Viktor Malein is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Economic History and the Centre for Economic Demography at Lund University. His research focuses on human capital formation, particularly the role of primary education in industrial transitions, and the long-term socioeconomic effects of early public childcare systems using individual census data. Additional work examines mortality determinants in late 19th- to early 20th-century contexts.
