University of Texas Southwestern Medical Centerمعرفی
Viktor Iakovenko, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology's Division of Medical Physics & Engineering at UT Southwestern Medical Center. His educational background includes a B.Sc. in Physics and M.Sc. in Nuclear and Particle Physics from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (Ukraine), followed by a Ph.D. in Particle Physics from Paris-Sud University (France). He completed postdoctoral training at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre (Toronto) and a radiation oncology physics residency at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Iakovenko's research focuses on advancing radiation therapy technologies, with emphasis on:
- MR-guided adaptive radiation therapy
- Novel detector systems for radiation therapy
- Dosimetry for emerging treatment modalities
- Stereotactic radiotherapy
His publications span medical physics and particle physics, with recent work concentrating on MR-linac dosimetry, uncertainty quantification, and clinical applications in radiation oncology. Earlier research contributed to particle physics through LHCb Collaboration studies of B-meson decays and quarkonium production.
He maintains active collaborations in global oncology initiatives, particularly addressing radiation therapy challenges in conflict zones like Ukraine.
