Seungjong Oh, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at Washington University in St. Louis (WashU Medicine). He holds a BS in Nuclear Engineering from KAIST, an MS in Biomedical Engineering, and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the Catholic University of Korea. Certified by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Medical Physics, Dr. Oh has extensive experience in medical physics research and clinical applications.
His research focuses on online adaptive radiation therapy using MR-Linac systems, stereotactic arrhythmia radioablation (STAR), and deformable image registration (DIR) with finite element methods (FEM). These areas intersect biomedical engineering and precision radiation therapy, enabling real-time treatment adjustments and advanced cardiac ablation techniques.
Dr. Oh's career path includes postdoctoral work at Princess Margaret Cancer Center (Canada) and Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), followed by residency training in Therapeutic Medical Physics at VCU. He served as a staff medical physicist at Allegheny Health Network, where he pioneered MR-Linac and STAR programs at Allegheny General Hospital, and as an Assistant Professor of Radiological Science at Drexel University College of Medicine.
