Vikki Barry is a Senior Lecturer in Occupational Therapy within the Department of Allied Health Professions, Sport and Exercise at the University of Huddersfield. She has been a full-time academic since March 2016, following her role as a Lecturer Practitioner starting in October 2015. She is also a member of the Centre for Applied Research in Health and actively contributes to professional and academic communities.
Research Interests: Vikki's research is centered on the concepts of occupational identity and occupational justice, with a particular focus on asylum seekers and individuals with mental health challenges. Her work explores how employment restrictions affect the occupational identities of asylum seekers and how occupation interrelates with health. She is passionate about service user involvement and the integration of research into teaching.
