Vignesh Rajahmani is a Research Fellow at King’s India Institute, King’s College London, specializing in Indian and Indonesian politics. He holds a PhD in Political Science and Public Policy from King’s College London (2023) and is also a postdoctoral affiliate at the Center for Information, Technology, and Public Life (CITAP), University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His research spans political science, public policy, sociology, and business studies, focusing on campaign finance, democratic development, and the impact of social media on politics.
He has extensive professional experience in public policy and political consulting, including roles with India’s Indian National Congress and regional parties like Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and All India Trinamool Congress. His work includes crafting election manifestos, income support schemes, and state development plans.
Rajahmani leads the 'Social Media Networks and (Dis)information' research group at King’s and coordinates 'Confronting Caste', a seminar and podcast series. He is also part of the 'Cities, Climate, and Capital in the Greater Indian Ocean World' research group. Notable past events he organized include discussions on caste politics, social media hate speech, and South Asian identity.
