Vidin Kirkov

Dr. Vidin Kirkov, MD, is the current General Secretary of Medical University Sofia (MU-Sofia). He holds an Assistant Professor position in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Faculty of Public Health. His academic journey includes a Master-Physician degree (2021), a Doctorate in Social Medicine (2023), and a Master's in Public Health (2023). Professional highlights include roles as Head of the Center for Bulgarian and Foreign Students (2021–present) and promotion to Chief Assistant in his department (2023). He has authored/co-authored over 30 scientific publications, with involvement in research projects at MU-Sofia. Active memberships include the Bulgarian Medical Association, European Public Health Association (EUPHA), and UNESCO's International Chair in Bioethics. Awards include the 2021 SIGNUM LAUDIS and 2019 'Student of the Year' recognition. He serves on MU-Sofia’s Academic Council, editorial boards, and scholarship committees, and has chaired student councils and organized academic events.

Research focuses on health policy, healthcare management, and medical ethics. His administrative contributions span student affairs, scholarship management, and international partnerships. Proficient in English and Russian, he contributes to MU-Sofia’s strategic initiatives through leadership roles in both academic and administrative capacities.
