Maya Vizeva

Prof. Maya Vizeva is a Professor at New Bulgarian University (NSA) since 2023 and previously held the rank of Professor at the Medical University of Sofia (MU-Sofia) since 2020. She has been an Associate Professor at MU-Sofia since 2015. Her primary affiliation is with the Faculty of Public Health, Health Care and Tourism, Department of Health Care. She holds a Ph.D. in Social Medicine and Organization of Healthcare and Pharmacy (2014) and a Master's in Healthcare Management (2006).

Her research focuses on Public Health, Healthcare Management, and Gerontology, with over 150 publications in Bulgarian and international journals. She serves as Editor-in-Chief of the medical journal Health and Science and actively participates in organizations like the Gerontological Society of America and the Bulgarian Scientific Society of Public Health. She mentors Roma-origin medical students through scholarship programs.

Prof. Vizeva is a member of numerous national and international associations, including the Management Board of the National Association of Gerontology and the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics' International Forum of Teachers. Her work emphasizes healthcare system improvements and interdisciplinary collaboration in public health.
