Vida Jojić

Dr. Vida Jojić is a Principal Research Fellow at the Department of Genetic Research, Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković" (IBISS), which operates as a National Institute of the Republic of Serbia under the University of Belgrade. She has maintained continuous employment at IBISS since December 2001 and is recognized as one of the pioneers of geometric morphometrics in Serbia.

Her academic credentials include a B.Sc. (2000), M.Sc. (2005), and Ph.D. (2010), all earned at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade. Her doctoral dissertation focused on "The maintenance of B chromosomes in populations of the yellow-necked mouse, Apodemus flavicollis (Mammalia, Rodentia): Geometric morphometric analysis of morphological variability and its components."

Dr. Jojić's research spans multiple interconnected domains including zoology with emphasis on traditional and geometric morphometrics; evolutionary biology focusing on the evolution of complex morphological structures in vertebrates; genetics of supernumerary B chromosomes; and taxonomy using morphometric approaches. Her work specifically examines morphological variability components such as canalization, developmental stability, and morphological integration.

She has significantly contributed to academia by teaching Morphometry within PhD studies at the Faculty of Biology since 2007 and mentoring graduate, master's, and doctoral students. From 2020-2022, she led a bilateral Serbia-Slovenia research project investigating mandibular and cranial variation patterns in Apodemus species.
