Vid Znidarsic is a Research Fellow in the Department of Architecture at the University of Cambridge, affiliated with the MPhil in Architecture & Urban Design (MAUD) and MArch programs. He holds an MArch from the University of Ljubljana and an MA in Architectural History from The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL. His academic roles include serving as Unit Master at the Architectural Association School of Architecture (2022/2023), co-leading Diploma 5: 'Public! Porous! unheimlich. Placed!'.
His research and design practice focus on public spaces, sustainability, social justice, and intersectionality, blending theoretical inquiry with creative design solutions. He challenges established hierarchies and historical narratives while addressing political dynamics and lived experiences in spatial contexts. Professional experience includes roles at Bevk-Perovć, Casper Mueller Kneer, Farshid Moussavi Architecture, and currently at BIG - Bjarke Ingels Group, where he works as an architectural designer. His creative practice integrates critical thinking, writing, and design to explore non-human agency and temporal responsiveness in architecture.
Znidarsic’s work emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and the ethical implications of design, advocating for spaces that reflect complex socio-cultural realities. His teaching and research highlight the interplay between historical contexts and contemporary urban challenges.
