Victoria Rowena Browne is an Associate Professor of Printmaking and Publishing at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHiO), specializing in post-digital print processes and artistic publishing. She holds a MA(Hons) in Multi-Disciplinary Printmaking from the University of the West of England, alongside studies at École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Marseille and Kunsthøgskolen i Bergen.
Her research focuses on the intersection of hand-carved reduction techniques, CNC routing, and the materiality of ink. She has established academic frameworks for publishing as artistic practice through KALEID editions, which she ran from 2009-2017, representing over 500 European artists’ books. Her work is held in collections like MoMA Library, Tate Library, and V&A.
Browne’s exhibitions include solo shows at IMPACT 12 (Bristol, 2022), Gjestfrihet (Oslo, 2023), and group shows such as the Kraków International Print Triennial (2021). Her research spans material agency, print matrix trace carriers, and integrating 'found' knowledge into pedagogy. She has received awards including the 2022 Iceland Lichenstein Grant and multiple Kunstnerisk Utviklingsarbeid grants from KHiO.
