Victoria Peel is an Associate Professor in the Department of Tourism within the Faculty of Arts at Monash University. She is an active researcher, supervisor, and academic leader, currently serving as the Convenor of the Faculty of Arts Postgraduate Coursework Committee and Deputy Director of the National Centre for Australian Studies. Her work contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in sustainable tourism and well-being.
Her research focuses on Cultural Tourism, Heritage Tourism, Backpacker and Student Tourism, and the evolution of travel guidebooks. She explores the educational and spatial dimensions of youth and independent travel, with a strong emphasis on Australia’s tourism landscape.
