Dr. Victoria Browne is a Senior Lecturer in Political Philosophy at Loughborough University, specializing in feminist philosophy, temporality, and reproductive justice. She joined Loughborough in 2023 from Oxford Brookes University (2013–2023), and served as a Visiting Scholar at Columbia University's Institute for Research on Women, Gender, and Sexuality (2017–2018). Her academic training includes a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Liverpool (2013), and BA/MA degrees from SOAS, University of London.
Her research focuses on rethinking pregnancy beyond reproductive futurism, feminist temporalities, and the intersections of gender, class, and power. Key works include Pregnancy Without Birth: A Feminist Philosophy of Miscarriage (2024), which critiques stigma frameworks around miscarriage, and Feminism, Time, and Nonlinear History (2013), proposing a polytemporal historiography. She has also co-edited Vulnerability and the Politics of Care: Transdisciplinary Dialogues (2016), exploring vulnerability across global contexts.
Dr. Browne has secured grants from the Arts and Humanities Research Council, British Academy, and Leverhulme Trust. Her articles, published in Hypatia, Radical Philosophy, and Signs, analyze miscarriage politics, feminist historiography, and carceral state critiques. She serves on the editorial collective of Radical Philosophy since 2012, contributing to scholarly discourse on feminist theory and activism.
