Dr. Victoria Bell is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology at Teesside University, where she serves as Head of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. She holds an MRes in Rural Social Science and a PhD from Newcastle University, with her doctoral research focusing on lived experiences at Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site.
Her research encompasses multiple sociological domains including qualitative and visual methodologies, volunteering patterns, tourism sociology, heritage interpretation, and spatial relationships. Additional interests span social theory, public art installations, and the sociology of motorcycling culture.
Bell leads significant research projects examining:
- Security enhancements in drug recovery prisons
- Migration impacts on established communities
