Roles and Affiliations: Victoria Averbukh is a Professor of Practice at Cornell University’s School of Operations Research and Information Engineering and serves as Director of Cornell Financial Engineering Manhattan (CFEM). She leads CFEM, a Manhattan-based program for ORIE M.Eng. students focused on quantitative finance careers.

Research & Teaching: Her research emphasizes financial modeling in fixed income markets, particularly Mortgage-Backed Securities. Courses taught focus on practical valuation and pricing of interest-rate securities, incorporating presentation skills and independent projects to bridge academic learning with real-world financial markets.
Career Background: Prior to academia, Victoria held senior roles in Wall Street: as a Fixed Income Strategist at Salomon Brothers (later Citi) and Head of Structured Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities Research at Deutsche Bank. She advised on U.S. Treasury futures and MBS, with media appearances in Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and Bloomberg Radio.
